The Nitty Gritty

When are you opening?
After nearly a year of searching throughout lower Westchester, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve found our home at 50 Main Street, right in the heart of Tuckahoe. We’re partnering with Brooklyn-based architecture and design firm Overlay Office to bring this space to life, and plan to submit our village permits in early January 2026. With everything moving forward as expected, we’re hopeful to open our doors and begin operations in spring 2026.

I've never touched clay. Where can I start?
Never touched clay? You’re in the right place.
Our one-off Intro To Mud classes are the perfect way to dip your hands into wheel throwing or handbuilding—no experience needed. We provide everything: tools, aprons, and step-by-step guidance. Just show up ready to try something new— you’ll shape one or two pieces, and we’ll take care of glazing and firing. If the kiln gods approve, your finished pottery will be ready for pickup in two weeks. Our goal with these classes is simple: to give you a great experience so you catch the clay bug and want to come back for more.
When you're ready to dive deeper—or just know clay is going to be your thing—our semester-long beginner classes offer weekly instruction plus open studio time, giving you space to grow your skills and find your place in our creative community.
When you opt for that route (and we know you will!) we kick off each semester with a studio tour, giving you a clear and in depth understanding of how everything works. You'll learn the fundamentals and build a strong foundation to grow from. (Should you forget things here and there, we have our studio well equipped with signage and handy cheat sheets.)
Once the basics are covered, each class begins with a demo of a new form—designed to inspire and guide your time with clay that day.

Can I enroll in pottery classes midway through a semester?
While we encourage students to register at the start of the semester to grow alongside their peers, we do offer prorated pricing for those joining later. If you're new to the studio, our instructors will make sure you get a full tour—no matter when you begin—typically after the class demo and Q&A are complete. No matter what, make sure you get this tour so that you are familiar with studio policies and feel comfortable and confident navigating the space!

What is a makers café?
We’re a reimagined the concept of a café—yes, there’s great coffee and bites, but the real menu is made of art. Choose your medium, and we’ll provide the materials, warm-up prompts, and beginner-friendly projects designed for all ages and skill levels.
To create this menu, we’ve collaborated with artists who are experts in their medium. Each project is thoughtfully curated with a step-by-step approach that guides you through the process—while still leaving plenty of room for personal expression and creative exploration.
Whether you’re tagging along with a toddler, enjoying one-on-one time with your partner, or adding a creative twist to your next book club meet-up, there’s something for everyone—from pottery painting and weaving to mixed media and more.

Whether you're gathering friends around a ceramics class or one of our drop-in art experiences, we’ll help make it memorable.
